St Polycarp’s is a proud and enthusiastic Eco School and we are currently working towards the renewal of our green flag award. The whole school is involved in addressing environmental issues; pupils, teachers, non-teaching staff, parents and Governors.
Each class is represented by an Eco Committee member who will meet with Miss Berenson on a weekly basis. Each meeting has an agenda and children are involved in discussing the eco schools 9 areas of concern (Energy, Water, Biodiversity, School grounds, Healthy Living, Transport, Litter, Waste and Global citizenship) and how we can address these in our school. The committee will have the opportunity to feed back what they have been working on to our Eco Governor, Mr Potter.
