Samara's Aid - October 2018

Samara’s Aid Clothing and Bedding Collection

Katarina Parr (mother of Theo Parr in year 5) began helping Samara’s Aid when she saw the pictures of refugee children walking in the snow in bare feet. The children of St Polycarp’s collected a total of 51 boxes of clothes and 5 bags of bedding for these children. The boxes and bags were packed and sent to the UK warehouse in early October and contributed to 6 shipping containers of supplies that were sent this autumn from Samara’s Aid which will benefit people in Syria this winter.

The project was a wonderful collaboration between the school, St Joan’s church and the Arcaid charity that paid for the shipping of the boxes to Syria.
